Message from the President
A message from Dr. Roger Drake, the 26th President of Central Methodist University:
Dear Alumni and Friends of Central, Having now served as President of this great university for several years, it has become abundantly clear to me that I owe much of our current success to the foundation laid by you as students, graduates, and supporters. Your incredible generosity and love for this institution is what drew me to serve here, and continues to serve as a constant source of inspiration. Our mission, to "prepare students to make a difference in the world," has never been more relevant or necessary than it is now, and it compels us to continually strive for excellence in all we do. The Central Methodist commitment to quality, student-centered education is the driving force behind our efforts. We are taking bold steps in areas across our university to strengthen our already bright future; including strategic changes in enrollment management and creative retention programs to new and innovative academic offerings, expansion of extracurricular activities and the reinvigorating and repurposing of facilities. All of this serves to strengthen our ability to succeed in our primary and historic purpose: to facilitate life transformation for our students. This holds true for all students of CMU, whether on our Fayette campus, one of our many satellites around the state and region, or through our online programs. We are all Central. Though your time as a student here may be rooted in the past, you continue to play a critical role in our future. The support of our Alumni & Friends is what sets us apart, and provides us with the ability to succeed. Your support and your commitment help us maintain the values of the institution that shaped and educated you, so that we can provide that same experience for this and the next generations. This truly is a very special institution, and while somethings do change from time to time, Central's place in our hearts never will. Thank you for your commitment to CMU.
